Fedo

Fedo is Lada’s husband. He enters the crisis believing that at some point someone will need to take responsibility — and that person should be him.

He wants to solve the situation, restore order, and prove that he can be useful. But the more he tries to establish authority, the more obvious it becomes that nobody has actually given it to him.

In this crisis he becomes the situational father — trying to restore order and usefulness while the structure around him collapses.

We are looking for a man with a distinctly ordinary, office-class presence — more middle management than authority figure. Slightly nerdy, practical, neat, perhaps a little physically awkward. Someone who looks more comfortable behind a desk, following procedures, or explaining how something should be done than taking control of a real crisis.

He should not immediately read as dominant, intimidating, or traditionally masculine. His authority needs to feel borrowed — something he tries to construct through logic, rules, and pressure when the situation stops behaving the way he expects.

We need an actor who can play insecurity without simply playing weakness.

Fedo begins practical and restrained. He tries to remain reasonable, reduce the chaos, and behave like the person who has things under control. But underneath that is a strong need to feel necessary, respected, and listened to.

As the balance in the room changes, that need begins to show. Hesitation becomes pressure. Restraint becomes aggression. Attempts to help become attempts to control.

The tension of the role comes from the gap between how Fedo wants to be seen and what the situation actually reveals about him.

He should never become a coward, a victim, or comic relief. His behaviour can become uncomfortable, but it must remain understandable. We need to feel that his attempts at authority come from a real fear of being irrelevant.

Much of the performance exists between the lines. Small moments matter: waiting before speaking, looking for approval, interrupting at the wrong moment, changing physical distance, becoming louder when he feels ignored, or applying pressure to someone he believes he can control.

The camera will stay close and handheld, so the actor needs to be comfortable with subtle, internal performance, extended scenes, heavy dialogue, and maintaining emotional continuity across long takes.
